About The
Artist
Kate’s warm and eclectic
personality will make your experience with her both enjoyable and memorable.
Without exception, fun will be had when you hire her to create your portrait or
capture your special day, which makes it possible for her to photograph life’s
essential, innate emotions. She is flexible, creative, easy to work with, and
always eager to be behind the camera.
Her
passion has always been photography. Kate is the oldest of five siblings and
several cousins, and her favorite activity was photographing all of those
"willing" subjects. While in college, working as a teacher, pursuing her
Master’s Degree, and working as a nonprofit executive, she pursued her
photography career on the side. Finally giving in to her true love, Kate devoted
herself full time in 2002.
Kate’s
love for photography as well as involvement in the special moments in others
lives certainly grew as a result of planning her own wedding and having a baby.
Connecting with Kate is effortless; she vividly remembers the excitement of
being a bride, the anticipation of pregnancy, the indescribable emotions of
being a new mom, and now, the pride in watching her own child grow. These truly
special times as well as the joy and simplicity of everyday family living are
certainly times worth remembering, and Kate will artistically document the
moments to be treasured for years to come.

A Few
Words on Style...
Wedding Photography
My
style is a blend of photojournalism, fine art, and traditional wedding
photography. This means that, in an unobtrusive manner, I capture the moments of
your day as they happen. I still take the more traditional portraits, but in a
creative and natural way. I also love to document all of the emotions, details,
beauty, and sheer joy of a wedding day. Skill, education, training, and
creativity are all very important, but I would say that it is my personality
that makes me a great wedding photographer. I absolutely love what I do!
Lifestyle
Portraiture
My
approach to portraiture is very natural. I work on location, which means that I
will come to you, either at your home or at a beautiful outdoor setting. Of
course we’ll get some of the “everybody smile and look at the camera” images,
but I also focus on capturing your relationship and some of those more natural
moments that just happen. It is truly an experience you can’t get in a studio
and the results are so much more meaningful!
Location
I
accept weddings and portraits in North Carolina, Indianapolis, and New Orleans.
But, I’m also available for travel just about anywhere!
Associate Photographers
If I
am not personally available, I have Associate Photographers who have trained
under me. And, best of all, they come at a reduced fee.
